Are there any monsters with similar effects to Yu-Gi-Oh's Relinquished in Magic: The Gathering?

I'd like to make a Magic: The Gathering deck, and I'm quite in love with the concept of stealing your opponent's monsters and using them against your opponent. Relinquished is a key card in my Yu-Gi-Oh deck, so I was wondering if there are any monsters with similar effects in Magic. If not, can anyone recommend a decent deck theme that would yield similar results? This is for casual play, not competitive.
