Iphone 4 battery life?

I just got my iphone 4 and ive been hearing all about the battery life. My question is how long should I expect the battery to last. I text alot during the day and use a few apps during the day. Im fully charged by 9 am and by about 11 pm my battery is at 40%. Does this sound normal?
