Cervical mucus question, possibly pregnant?

Okay, did anyone else who was pregnant have a stretchy, almost elasticy type cervical mucus? I've never had it before, but I think I may have gotten pregnant about three weeks ago I had unprotected sex. (everyday between june 9 and june 16) I did get a period on the 17th that lasted through the 20th. The first and last days were just brownish white discharge, the middle two days the blood was darker and more red but could've even been old blood. I'm not sure if this counted, it came three days late and normally my periods last between 6 and 9 days and are very heavy. I'm experiencing some very light cramping, it gets worse if I excercise. I worked out yesterday and thought I would have to stop because of the alarming cramps. I have been pregnant before and had these type of cramps. I can't sleep at night. I took a test today around fivc thirty pm, and the control line was there, and then on one side of that line there were specks of ink but they didn't make a solid line like the faint positive I had with my first pregnancy. Does this mean the test was defective? It was only half a plus sign if that makes sense. like a plus with one half a line missing and it wasn't solid, it was just speckles going about halfway to the edge of the window. Has this happened to anyone before? What happened with ya'll? (maybe I'm not pregnant and it was false and my symptoms are nothing, or maybe I'm pregnant I just tested early and had dilute urine and the positive was extra faint) What do you think? Sorry this is so long and so many different parts in one question.
