FedEx delivery question. ?

I ordered a phone from Verizon yesterday around 12 noon. I tracked it online and says its in Lakewood Nj (20 minutes give or take from home) and estimated arrival is before 3 PM today. Since its so close to my home will it arrive sooner or will I be stuck waiting around until the afternoon (requires signature)
